Hello everyone,
Maths
We are working on fractions in our maths lessons. You can reinforce our learning by cooking with your child (using fractions of course!). Also, the children should know their multiplication and division facts (9 X 8 = 72 and 72 ÷ 9 = 8 and 72 ÷ 8 = 9). This is needed to convert between types of fractions.
Uniform Issues
Please be sure to send your child in the correct uniform and shoes every day. Students should wear black school shoes with the formal uniform. Shirts that are not part of our uniform should not be worn. No hair should hang in front of faces (boys or girls). School socks must be worn with sport uniform and boys must wear gray socks with formal pants. Sport uniform is worn on Tuesday and Friday for Mrs Hall and Mrs Kruger’s classes. Sport uniform is worn on Wednesday and Friday for Mr Pfeiffer. If your child is not able to wear the correct uniform on a given day, a note is required.
Camp
Please be sure to read the previous blog post and fill out the consent form as soon as possible.
Science Incursions
We are hosting some science incursions this term. Our first one is tomorrow, Friday, 28 August and the students will explore hands-on science experiments. We’ll have another one on Thursday, 24 September where we will explore forensic science.
Father’s Day Stall
You should have received a Father’s Day brochure for the Father’s Day Stall held on Wednesday 2/9 and Thursday 3/9. You can check the P & F blog if you didn’t receive one. Students should bring the correct money in a labelled envelope. There will be no money handled or change provided.
Chapel Offering
Our school continues to fund raise for a pond in Cambodia through the ALWS. All students are encouraged to bring pocket change on Fridays to contribute. Our current Christian Studies unit of inquiry is focusing on our responsibility to care for God’s creation – the environment and people.
Library Books & Reading
Please return library books on Thursdays so the books can be shelved for Browse and Borrow on Fridays. Premier’s Reading Challenge forms are due on the 4th of September. Due to Covid, children can read any books. Please encourage your child to keep reading!
Blessings!
